This series of work aims to promote and document a shift in perspective.
One new train of thought is all it takes to provoke measurable change. As artists, we are social leaders who are bestowed the responsibility of documenting history as the unrelenting truth that it is.
The truth is, we are rapidly destroying our home. Mother Nature has never been more furious with us.
The simple beauty that surrounds us everyday can now be seen on a canvas; illuminating the natural colors found all around us, and bringing light what we may one day destroy.

Visual artist Britni Mara re-examines what it means to be environmentally friendly by creating her own natural dyes from common food sources. Using ingredients such as beets, turmeric, avocados, and hibiscus, her kitchen and her studio have become one and the same. The mini documentary, “Intrinsic Dye” shows her process, and inspiring vision to create a dialogue revolving around a non-toxic art practice.
